Aluminum

a small amount of boron powder to the aluminum-containing fuel air
explosive can increase the overall energy level of the explosive.
Nano
boron powder is a high-energy combustion component. The volumetric
calorific value (140kg/cm3) and mass calorific value (59kg/g) of
elemental boron are far greater than those of other single-molecule
energetic materials such as magnesium and aluminum. Very good fuel,
especially nano boron powder has a higher combustion efficiency, so
adding nano boron powder to explosives or propellants can significantly
increase the energy of the energetic material system.
Tests
have shown that the energy release of boron powder in the detonation
process can increase the duration of underwater bubble energy and air
burst fireball.
Among energetic materials, boron/aluminum composite powder is widely used.
