Nonionic surfactant Polyethylene glycol PEG was found to be effective for the dispersion of SiC nanopowders in ethanol solution(PEG must be high molecular weight > 1000). When the medium is ethanol, as ethanol has good solubility to polyethylene glycol (peg), so that the chain of polyethylene glycol (peg) at full stretch and dispersed uniformly. the result is better for SIC nanopowders dispersion when liquid medium for ethanol and 5 wt % PEG adding amount .PEG adsorption quantity increases with the increased amount of PEG on the surface of the powders, the medium will not affect the adsorption quantity.The study found that SIC nanopowders can well dispersed in ethanol with 30 to 60 vol % content in aqueous solution.With ethanol solution of 50 vol % content for the study of special case, found SIC dispersion effect is best in alkaline conditions and PH value between 9 and 10.
